My recent favourites

Here are some items and products I've really liked discovering and using over the past year or so.

Make up
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in 'Light'.

I use this nearly everyday and find it a good substitute for foundation. I'm lucky to have fairly clear skin so don't always feel I need foundation level of coverage. I'll apply the BB cream with a Real Techniques stippling brush (although bare hands are fine too) and then use Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (in fair 1) on any parts of a my face that I want more coverage on. This product claims to 1) Create a natural glow 2) Compliment skin-tone 3) Provide SPF30 protection 4) Hydrate all day 5)Blur imperfections 6) Be oil free and non-greasy 7) Look visibly smooth 8) Feel fresh. I honestly feel it does all of these things. Although I know it's bad, I don't really use many other products on my skin but yet it never feels dry - this is definitely hydrating. There are loads of BB creams to pick from but this one is reasonably priced (£7.99 and often included in multi-buy offers) and does what it says.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket Waterproof mascara

A brilliant everyday mascara. I'd been using Benefit They're Real for a while, and it's great but expensive. This is only £7.99 and personally I find it has a similar finish. I tried the non-waterproof version first (pink font on packaging) and it smudged easily. The waterproof version is what works for me.

Urban Decay Naked2 palette.

My favourites: Bottom = Busted, Middle = Half Baked, Top = Bootycall

Hi tech camera set up! The Rocket Mascara, Busted underneath.

Got this for Christmas last year and have probably used in every day in someway. My most used shades are Half Baked, Bootycall and Busted but really they are all lovely. I like using Busted to line my eyes (with an angled brush) as it has a softer effect than most normal eyeliners. Expensive but worth it. Comes with a nice application brush too.

Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Peach Glow

DEFINITELY use it everyday. Couldn't live without it. A no fuss powder.

Hair
Hask Argan Oil

I found this by the tills in Primark. I think it is only £1.00. When I went in looking for it the other day they didn't have any. That is the only problem with his product - you never know if Primark will have it out for sale or not. I put about a 5-10p size blob on the ends of my fingers and then run it through the last 3inches or so of my hair when wet. Comb it through (important), blow dry and it makes my locks feel soft and healthy. But I've nearly run out!!

Clothes
Dorothy Perkins Slash Neck Dress

Oh I do love this dress! I have it in the colours shown above and also purple and green. They are very versatile: comfortable for work and easy to glam up for going out. I will try to stop myself at just the four!

Ugg Boots

I know some people love them and some people hate them. You can't hate them until you've tried them. My Uggs are over 5 years old, heavily worn each winter and still the most comfortable footwear I own. Truly snug and warm and a good investment. I bought mine in New Zealand for approx. £100. I must admit that had I been facing the £180-£200 they cost in the UK I would not have even thought about it. However I know I will buy another pair when mine become unwearable and would pay full price if I had to. I've never got round to putting protective spray on my pair and I also put them in the washing machine once when perhaps I shouldn't have but I reckon they still look alright. I don't care too much if they don't; I'm warm and snug when I'm wearing Uggs!
