My World Cup Starting Eleven: A Female Perspective

Following on from some tiring research that involved stressful decision making...I give you my starting eleven 4-4-2 for the World Cup. I wonder what it's based on (clue: not footballing talent). I'm afraid I couldn't be as specific as "centre back", "centre mid" but if they want to be in my team they will need to be flexible anyway.

Goalkeeper -  some competition from Karnezis of Greece and Begovic of Bosnia & Herzegovina but here is the winner:
Daniel Davari - Iran
Defence - not a lot of competition in this position. It was hard work finding 4 good looking defenders!

Santiago Arias - Colombia

Mats Hummels - Germany

Luke Shaw - England

Joel Veltman - Netherlands
Midfield - this area was much more competitive. Other contenders included Koke (Spain), Veloso (Portugal) and Lodeiro (Uruguay). Here are the chosen 4:

Yohan Cabaye - France

Adam Lallana - England

Mensur Mujdza - Bosnia & Herzegovina

James Rodriguez - Colombia

Forwards - substitutes in this area include Gavranovic (Switzerland) and Goetze (Germany) but the eyes of these two caught me:

Maksim Kanunnikov - Russia

Olivier Giroud - France

Now I just need to decide who to make captain.
